Forgive me for being lazy in updating my blog. My days are terribly hectic. In fact, the only way I was able to make time for this is by including it in my planner.
A planner that I personally chose and bought. A first for me.
I wasn't big on planners and planning in general. I prefer to keep take mental notes instead. Then I started placing reminders on my phone calender. However, I am now at a point where mental notes and phone reminders are not enough. I am cramming as many activities as I could in my days.
Ironically, my weekends are the busiest days of my week. I did the following in the course of one Saturday:
1. Create and finish a bible study/sermon outline from scratch
2. Have my barong drycleaned (which reminds me, I have to pick it up!)
3. Print the portrait I took of my friend in 8x10
4. Print the transparencies for our cell church's P&W
4. Watch Kung-Fu Hustle
5. Find a suitable frame for the 8x10 portrait
6. Worship team practice for our msother (as opposed to the cell) church's P&W
7. Catch part of the UFC on TV
That's a typical saturday for me. Days like that are the reason why I thought it's high time I bought a planner for myself. A simple but sturdy one that would fit my needs perfectly.
With days like that it's easy to lose track of the time. January went by and I hardly felt it. Hopefully I won't lose myself in this break-neck pace.
I was right I predicted at the beginning of last year that 2004 would be an eventful year. It was, not only for me, but for most people I know. Now I give my fearless forecast for this year (albeit a bit late):
This year will be pivotal because it will be the furnace by which many people will be tested. This year, the brave will discover what they're made of. Some will find themselves burned to ashes, leaving nothing but black, sticky soot. Others will find the cords that held them back burnt away, leaving them free to soar like phoenixes.
If last year was like visiting a new place and exploring it, this year will be like coming to a battleground. It has it's own excitement and thrills and rewards at the end, but of a different kind.
The cowards and those who sleep, on the other hand, will find this year little different from the previous one: safe and utterly boring. Stagnant. To them I say, wake up. Come down from your towers. A revolution is being fought beneath your fortresses.
Oh God forbid that I waste away in my own stagnation.
